About This Event
Celebrated just one day before Ganesha Chaturthi, Gowri Habba honors Goddess Parvati (Gowri). Married women perform 'Swarna Gowri Vrata' to seek the Goddess's blessings for a happy married life and the health of their families. Parents send "Baagina" (a set of traditional items in a winnowing fan) to their married daughters. It symbolizes the Goddess visiting her maternal home before her son, Ganesha, arrives the next day.
